Abstract

There are 19.3% of patients in Indonesia undergoing hemodialysis due to chronic kidney failure with the proportion of DKI Jakarta having the highest incidence rate of 38.7%. Hemodialysis can be performed on patients with chronic kidney failure who are in stages 4 and 5. Hemodialysis takes 12-15 hours each week, or around 3-5 hours per therapy. The impact that occurs from hemodialysis is experiencing fatigue. The aim of this research is that those undergoing hemodialysis therapy can be minimized using slow deep breathing therapy. Method: This research uses a quantitative pre-experimental type with a pre test – post test one group design approach. In the period August – October 2024, the sample consisted of 18 patients using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The majority of those undergoing hemodialysis were men (66.7%) aged >50 years (83.3%). Duration of hemodialysis > 2 years (61.1%), frequency 2x a week (94.4%), duration 5 hours (88.9%). The fatigue levels obtained were moderate (55.6%) and severe (44.4%). By testing the paired T-test, a p value of 0.000 was obtained. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving slow deep breathing on fatigue in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy at RSAL Dr. Mintohardjo. Suggestion: It is hoped that you can do slow deep breathing independently at home when you feel tired. Keywords : CKD, Fatigue, Slow Deep Breathing, Hemodialysis
